GIANNI

Kasuti is a traditional folk embroidery of Karnataka in southern India. The embroidery is done in a combination of ‘Gavanthi’ and ‘Murgi’ stitches which involve counting of each thread on the cloth. The designs are inspired from local life and culture and often depict motifs of birds, tulsi, trees, elephants, chariots, etc. The embroidery is done only by women. This collection has been hand embroidered by Afreen, Poonam, Dilshad and Rehana through our association with Glocal Weaves
