Elastic waist basketball shorts in natural indigo khadi and patch-worked production scraps
Using textile scraps from our previous collections we have cut them into shapes representing 5 important lakes of India. Each lake faces a precarious existence with the increasing onset of climate change and the disregard of industrialisation to respect water and lakes as important for local communities.
Water shortage in India will further exacerbate the problems faced by rural communities for whom lakes are sacred. The patches are attached to Khadi, a traditional hand spun and handwoven fabric that is produced with minimal water and left natural or dyed with natural Indigo.
