These garments have been hand embroidered by Md Ashraf, a skilled embroiderer who hails from Bengal. The pieces showcase a collection of embroidery motifs from our archive using a chain stitch technique called Ari. Each motif is individually embroidered on a frame before the garment is stitched. The fabric used is a khadi from Udyog Bharti.

Note: The garment may exhibit patchy dyeing and marks as a result of the natural dyeing process. The print may naturally fade due to exposure to sunlight and washing. Dry crocking (the transfer of dye onto other fabrics and surfaces when dry) may also occur. Refrain from pairing this clothing item with light colors until any remaining color has been eliminated, as there might be some color transfer.
